The Jig brings raw, uncut instrumental funk. Three cool horns and an ultra tight rhythm section with Hammond organ create a crispy funk sound inspired by heroes like The Meters and Bootsy Collins. Vintage, with style and a contemporary urge. The band plays almost exclusively their own material. Catchy, soulful, deep, funky. Some of their songs are already known as underground-dancefloor-hits. Taking the music of the sixties as a starting point, they start where others have left. But be careful! The Rotterdam Ska-Jazz Foundation is NOT a retro band in any perspective. Armed with drums, bass, guitar, piano, organs, and a wide range of horns, the Rotterdam Ska-Jazz Foundation has been refining their mix of Ska, Jazz, Rock-Steady, Reggae and Soul over the past eight years.

LP release

De Portuguese producer Rocky Marsiano A.K,A D-Mars is presenting a new LP. I recorded some tracks on this LP and his last CD.

On April 10th we will perform with this project in de VLLA club. More info will be announced soon.

Recording a CD in the US with The Jig

In November 2010 we will make a trip to the US to record a CD in the studio of Alan Evans, Soulive's drummer.
